After a life-changing breast cancer diagnosis Stephanie began to paint as an outlet to express her pain, disappointment, grief and gratitude. As an artist, Stephanie paints what she feels. Her art is a reflection of her thoughts, her beliefs and how she lives. Her abstract, and often mixed media, canvas paintings are bold Her art often reflect socially conscious issues. Much of her work starts on canvases that already exist. She believes that old is still beautiful, what exists is enough and art is everywhere.
Today, Stephanie is cancer-free and is choosing to live with more curiosity and compassion that continues to be reflected in her art. Each piece has a secret word or phrase as the starting point in creating the work.
Stephanie does not name her art. She believes that those that receive the art will know what to name the piece as to what it speaks the them.
