Acresius Anglesey

Acresius transports the viewer into a magical realm, where the paranormal and the hyperreal combine with harmony and unsettling beauty. His subjects float between ethereal realms, transporting us to find magic in our immediate surroundings. The artist creates dissonance and fantasy as mirrors of metaphorical themes. The paintings are often idyllic, escaping into technicolor dreamscapes. The lore of fairytales unveils its many glamours to an enchanting cosmos.

Being diaristic, Acresius fills his sketchbooks with mythic, psychedelic imagery and surrealist iconographies. He approaches art production through holographic imaging, layering, and sampling concepts into psychedelic landscapes. His works bind between depiction, suggestion, surrealism, and fantasy. The art implores illusion to collapse realities into surreal tableaux of flux, transience, and contradiction. Acresius holds space for fantasy to collide. His paint strokes create the imagination from one realm to another in uncanny and bizarre juxtaposition.
