Aleksandar Srb

I was born in 1978 in Belgrade, Serbia. Since childhood I was interested in sculpting in a way. First I modeled animals and people in plasticine, and it gradualy evolved from a child's play to serious study of art.

My curent inspiration is the woman, what she represents in our culture and art and what we think of when we see a female figure. This is the theme for my first solo exhibition. Another theme that I like is the animal world. I have enjoyed making animals since childhood and still continue to make them. For my next exhibition I would like to mix the animal world and the human world, showing the man who did he evolve from, who he was joined with in the myths of ancient times and that in the future he has to watch over his ancestors, because if they are gone, he will be gone too.

I have graduated at the "Akademija Lepih Umetnosti" (ALU), a private fine art academy in Belgrade in 2003. During my studies. I have participated in 2008 and 2009 in the sculpture project called "Terratoria" in the town of Kikinda, resulting in a grand scale outdoor exhibition of artworks of many young artists and about 2500 sculptures. In 2009 I have participated in the sculpture-pottery colony in the vilage of Zlakusa, near the town of Uzice in Serbia. I am a member of the Applyed Artists Society of Serbia (ULUPUDS) since 2004. I've had many collective exhibitions and I would like to mention four of them:
