Ben Ward

I am a abstract contemporary expressionist. I use Wax as my primary visual medium, and texture base, with small amounts of acrylics used in backgrounds, points of reference, and touch ups. I have found many different styles, techniques, and approaches to manipulate the wax into beautifully unique pieces of art. All are one of a kind pieces, boasting brilliant colors, combinations, and marblings that can only be accomplished through this untapped medium. Wax is a very unpredictable medium that hardens within a moments notice leaving no time for errors, manipulation, or do overs. The beauty of my "go with the flow" style of painting is that I am always able to seamlessly adapted to whatever direction the piece takes me in. I enjoy doing commission pieces for anybody who wants a certain style of piece with specific colors, and the size of their choosing. I enjoy the notion that no matter what, myself or anyone else would not be able to reproduce any of my works 100%. So a commission piece has a little bit of you in it along with a good amount of myself. I have found that this is very beneficial for all of the parties involved.
