Jordi Gonzalez Castello

I like the Japanese Wabi-Sabi aesthetic principle which is very characteristic of my work. An incomplete or imperfect finish, organic materials, showing the passage of time, etc.

Since the beginning of my career in the 90s, I was linked to various graphic techniques such as xylography in a free and unconventional way, by adding to the prints a hand finishing (drawing or painting) having as a result single originals. The most common leitmotiv on paper is the human body, deconstructing and analysing it, mixing scientific inspired images with metaphysic issues.

In the year 15, I felt an undeniable fascination for Land art and the environmental art. Actually, my work is focused on sculpture, interventions and installations in the natural space. I investigate on metaphysics as well as on our ancestral connection with knowledge and culture.
