Wildlife is a collection about presence: the quiet moments when an animal allows us into its world for a few seconds before moving on. These photographs were made on my travels, from the savannas of Tanzania to other wild corners of Africa, Asia and Latin America. I am not interested in the trophy shot. I wait for gesture and light instead: two elephants touching trunks at sunset, a giraffe walking away into a storm, the stillness just before something happens. Patience is the real tool here, more than the lens. Each image is a portrait of character as much as of species, framed with space and silence so the animal can breathe within the picture. My years working as a broadcast camera operator taught me to anticipate the moment rather than chase it, and that discipline runs through this series. Printed large, these works bring a sense of calm, scale and respect for the wild into any interior.
