Andreas Niederau-Kaiser

Andreas Niederau-Kaiser is a German artist whose work explores, among other things, the material and emotional properties of color. In his ongoing “Acramin Series,” he uses unprimed shirting cotton as a painting surface, applying layers of dye, oil color, and dispersion pigments through stamping and painting. This process allows the fabric to absorb and release color in unpredictable ways, creating subtle transitions between texture, transparency, and saturation. He is interested in how color can exist both as surface and as substance.
