Xandoval Wolfe

My practice is driven by the belief that life is an act of creation and constant becoming. We are constantly creating our self through the act of discovery as we explore the world around us, what draws us in, and what gives us life. Through the use of abstract ink, watercolor, and scientific illustration I explore the interplay of light, dark, color, and form in a process of exploration of the world, my self, and their interconnectedness.

I believe that engaging freely in a wide range of techniques and experiences gives me greater understanding about myself as a person and allows me to better understand my craft as an illustrator and actor. I don’t like being locked into one way of doing things and prefer to experiment before deciding what keep or set aside as I pass through the seasons of my life. Sometimes I return, sometimes not, but I am always grateful for the knowledge I gain, even when it’s knowledge of who I am not.
