Nives Roem

Visual artist, after completing my art studies at the Brera Academy in Milan, where I earned a Master’s degree in Scenography, I pursued a career in advertising and theater. After a period away from the art world, I left Italy for love and began a new life in France. Today, I am returning to my first passion: art.
As a contemporary visual artist, my work is driven by emotion and introspection. I draw aesthetic inspiration from the magical landscapes of Constable and Turner, particularly in their treatment of light and atmosphere. At the same time, my practice is deeply influenced by Art Informel—its materiality, gestural freedom, and graphic energy—embracing the unpredictability of matter and process.
My landscapes take the form of solitary, silent, and open refuges—spaces where viewers are invited to project their own memories, sensations, and absences, and to explore inner landscapes shaped by emotion and memory.
