Through art, I have pursued the essence of things.
What I found was frequency, wave, and elementary particle.
Nature is unstable and indeterminate.
Within that indeterminacy, something dwells that cannot be put into words.
I give it form — in the state of Naka-Ima, the eternal now.
Working across painting, photography, and sculpture, I do not plan my compositions in advance. I work in a state where thought cannot keep up with the hand — where the body moves before the mind can intervene. This is Naka-Ima: not the past, not the future, but the perpetually renewed present of Japanese spiritual tradition.
The frequency series explores the invisible vibrations that exist beneath the surface of all things — skin, light, color, silence. Each work is a record of a moment when something that cannot be named passed through the body and left a trace.
Nature is always changing. Unstable. Indeterminate. I do not resist this. I work with it.
