My work is an ongoing adventure, both for me and I hope for you. I consider my art a work in progress, always evolving, always exploring.
All of my pieces are inspired by the natural world, each one a glimpse into the universal world of nature. I use varying levels of abstraction to convey the timeless energy and tranquility of a place. The goal is the ever present peaceful atmosphere of nature, yet with an undercurrent of energy that resonates through the work.
I wish to break from the ordinary hopefully sparking awareness and curiosity for the natural world. While making my art visually engaging to view, I strive to transcend aesthetics. I wish to inspire others to enjoy, appreciate, and protect what we share.
Outdoors is where the image starts. It provides the raw material that sharpens the authenticity of each experience and enhances the final image. I use photography as a tool to paint with light and motion, blending color and form to capture the essence of nature in a single frame. I complete the work in my indoor passive solar studio. Sometimes, adding brushwork to further enrich the composition.

I spent my early years in suburban Boston Mass. Given a camera at a young age it opened new worlds and a new way of seeing. Higher education in Cleveland Ohio presented me with the opportunity to explore, now with a Nikon, industrial cityscapes in black and white.
Moving back to New England brought new photographic landscapes that moved me towards travel and scenic photography with a 4x5 view camera. I worked as a stock photographer producing scenic images with an agent relationship (now known as Getty Images). Along with this work I began using my art to produce original serigraphs featuring scenery and nature. This art was all done by hand from original sketch material, printed by hand in limited editions. My serigraphic art was shown and sold through selected galleries mostly along the east coast of the United States. This was a pursuit which now has entered a new phase.
With the advance of technology, things have changed radically. I no longer use film. I can do a lot of in camera viewing and fine tuning. I can now print my own photographic images in a large size direct to canvas with incredible fidelity. Handling each image start to finish is a great bonus in my work.
