Marilyn Green

Born in London, UK. Studied at the London Metropolitan University, Fine Art, Art History, Design and Interior Design. Travelled 3 years in Asia, Indonesia, Papua-New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand and South America. Studied Fine Art at the University of Art, Berlin.
I live and work in Berlin.
Painting is for me a language without words. A way to express movement, dynamic or stillness, space, depth and atmosphere. I use colour to create form, leading to abstractions, landscapes or ideas inspired from my visual experiences and nature. Also a sensibility for our natural environment and its diversity. I experiment while working allowing my paintings to develope as I work. There are variations to themes, ideas, abstractions, but I avoid repetition allowing every painting to be unique. Through abstraction, a dialogue can be created between the viewer and the art work, giving room for personal interpretations or experiences.

I studied at the London Metropolitan University, Fine Art, Art History, Design and Interior Design. Later Fine Art at the University of Art in Berlin. Granted a four years Scholarship, from the Friedrich-Naumann-Foundation. Graduated M.A. University of Art, Berlin. 1994-2003 Artist Promotion from the Cultural Senate Berlin. 2002-08 Lectured in Colour Theory and Drawing in Perspective. 2017-20 Lectured in Design at the HTK Academy for Design in Berlin. International Group and Solo Exhibitions in Berlin and Germany, London, UK, New York, NJ, Dallas, USA, France, Turkey, Brazil and Israel. Various exhibitions in museums in Berlin, Bonn, New Jersey, USA, Brazil, (14.Internationale Bienniale Brasilien, Museum MESC, S.C. Brazil). My works are presented annually at the Art Fair, Gallery Weekend in Berlin. Also presented in Rendsburg and Nürnberg in Germany. Dallas, USA. Cultural Centers in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Detmold, Istanbul and Ankara, Turkey, Korea and New York and New Jersey, USA.
My paintings are in numerous private and public collections in Berlin, Germany, London, New Jersey, New York, USA and Brazil.
