Tom Roy (Toni Ramírez, 1976) pivoted from a multinational corporate role to painting after a life-changing battle with cancer. That experience anchors a practice focused on inner strength and self-belief. His figures—large hands and feet, robust limbs, impossible gestures and piercing gazes—are rendered with unusual angles, saturated color and experimental textures that push a contemporary, neo-figurative language. Roy chairs the artist association ARA (Reus) and is an active ARTSUD member. He collaborates with charitable initiatives for Hospital Clínic and Hospital de la Vall d’Hebron and with audiovisual productions such as TV3’s Joc de Cartes.
