Adri Geelhoed

Born in 1957 in 's-Heer Arendskerke (The Netherlands). Lives in 's-Heer Hendrikskinderen. Has a studio in the former village-school.

For many years I have been fascinated by landscape, particularly that of my direct neighbourhood (in the south of The Netherlands). That extensive and flat landscape, obviously shaped by the presence of man, forms a source of inspirations for my paintings. A lifelong love for farmers' life contribute to that. In most of my works the horizon is emphasized, whereas the foreground is more or less empty. The most important elements are at any rate the bright colours, straight lines and large surfaces. I am searching for something monumental. In art I like balance, simplicity and silence.

Educated in Tilburg (1976-1981) as a teacher of Arts. Several exhibitions in The Netherlands since 1996.,
