Alejandra Piovano

My name is Maria Alejandra Piovano and born at 8 of november of 1957 in the then quiet spa of Mar del Plata and although the family moves to the city of Buenos Aires when i was five years old, it is not a minor fact that from my youth i lived by the water, that fluid is indispensable to my wellbein.
Does one become an artist? Why it happens? Is born with one or do you become the circumstances? I was a girl who could not stand school , soi clung to thecolored pencils, the temperas, the scissors to cut , the books,the music and the dance, and my room became my world within the world, and all that has been nourishment since then, the guilding thead of the girl to the adult.
My life today is between a beach in the northof Uruguay and a farm in lake Epuyen, Argentine Patagonia and art as a common thread.

I start studyng drawing in Fine Arts Stimulusin Buenos Aires but very soon i fall in love, i have babies and i go with my new family to the hippie life of the 80’ in El Bolson, Patagonia.
Open the earth, the wild nature, cultivate the garden, raise children, fight for the enviroment protecting with laws an incredible valley with its lake and forest.I dedicated myself to the desing of clothes and to the goldsmith desing of jewels for a special group of clients.
I lived in islands, beaches and mountains, but reaching the age of thirthy, an urge to paint took over my and despite the domestic complications of the moment, a new baby and the crssing of a lake by boat, i returned to take drawing and painting classes as a listener in the school of Fine Arts in El Bolson, that and the art books that i devoured as a girl, young and adult was my informal artistic education.

2002.i present, along with “The Epuyen group “ the multimedia art conservation proyect, inagurating the convention center of Villa La Angostura,Neuquen, Patagonia.
