My latest endeavour: I paint on maps.

First I put on them several layers of varnish, to make them heavy, textured, then I paint a text that comes in my mind, regarding the experience of human kind on that particular piece of earth.

Through my maps I want to study the relationship between the names of people, facts, memories (both individual and collective) and the land and its representation.
In response to every word, every symbol we perceive, the impressions we each have vary.

And, most of all, I want to express my unconditional love for the United States of America.

Every map is a unique work, on which I have spent many hours, both for the varnish and for the paint. In these hours I have concentrated myself on the territory and I was in touch with the people described by the map itself.
