Clay is my medium for exploring unknown and forgotten dreams, myths and connections. Creating new work is a journey into the dark center where everything is born and everything is connected. It is a solitary adventure, full of mystery and wonder which I bring back to share with you.
Making my torsos, I celebrate the Great Goddess in her various forms again and again, tracing plants, animals, birds and insects onto her skin.
My work is hand built using a mixture of press-moulding, slab building, carving and coiling techniques. I often use smoke firing techniques to paint the surface of unglazed work or add an extra glow to glazes. I also use bronze and copper effect finishes.
