Barbara Bottini

Barbara was born in Italy, 1980.
She moved from Italy to London two years ago.

The main theme of my reflection has always been the environment in which we live, mainly the space we inhabit and all its influences on our behaviour.
The relationship between people and their environment passes through images imposed by advertising messages, which bind the public sphere with the private one even higher.
In my last works I'm interested in representing a social space which is both public and personal, and which belongs to women alone.
My personal artistic language of painting is based on contemporary commercial visual cultureas an ulterior criticism of the mass media and of global capitalism.
