Each period in history has its sacred myth and these myths evolve over the millennia. The myth forever transforms, as it must, to reflect our ever-changing psychic needs. According to modern psychology, a new sacred myth is in the process of evolving, a myth that would provide us with the blueprint for our future lives. It would convey a new understanding of ourselves and reveal new modes of behavior that anticipate the qualities needed to meet life in the centuries to come.But before these myths become stories, they exist simply as images in the unconscious and for this reason the artist is in a unique position to be the first to perceive new trends within the psyche. My paintings are a documentation of these trends as presented to me by the unconscious. Of course, the images are colored by the lens through which they are seen, this lens being the individual artist. Only by the effect of these images on the viewer can the value and clarity of this lens be determined. At their most effective, such images provide a point of departure and recognition for those who, willingly or unwillingly, are faced with the need or desire to evolve.
