Artist's Statement:

“My journey from crayon-wielding tot to IT executive and back to the embrace of brushes and pixels is a testament to life's unpredictable beauty. While my right hand may have led me to art, it's the left turns in life that have enriched my palette. In each piece of my artwork, you may find a satirical ode, a self-effacing chuckle, and an occasional subtle reflection on the human experience. Through vibrant hues and playful subjects, I endeavor to bring a smile, provoke thought, or simply offer a whimsical escape from the daily grind.”

Doug Dalrymple is a Chicago-based Artist who works with a variety of mediums. His story unfolds amidst the dirt roads and cornfields of Clive, Iowa, where he was born and raised. His journey into the realm of art began early, thanks to a congenital hyper-growth defect in his right hand. To aid his fine motor development and enhance his writing skills, his mother introduced him to the tactile world of art using crayons, pencils, chalkboards, and tempera.
