Emma Fenelon

I work out of a studio under Peckham rye train station and am feeling very productive at the moment, with lots of new and exciting work emerging.

I am a story teller and it can be seen in the surfaces and subjects of my work. I like to pick at things and see what lies beneath. I use found minerals, human ash, dust, plants and clays to make my work.

Often a patchwork quilt of detail, my work is driven by a fascination for what remains, what records passing time, how things survive and what we can read in these traces; like the old layers hiding under my wallpaper or old letters found abandoned.
