Elmarie Smit

I'm a contemporary artist and would describe my style as "loving diversity".

I am mostly inspired by the Impressionist Era. The two Impressionists who have greatly inspired me are Renoir and Degas. Between the two, Renoir is probably my favorite, because of his usage of colors, the semi-realism he worked into his work and the way his paintings always seem to be telling a story.

I have been painting for about 12years. I have no official training and I started out not being able to draw a 3D box. I was 28 years old when I asked God to teach me to draw or paint and He did. He deserves the glory and honor for everything that I know and everything I have learnt over the years.
