Dolores Flores

Dolores Flores is an interdisciplnary artist, poet and musician who lives and works in Berlin Germany. She is of Mexican, American, German decent, born in Berlin Germany. She grew up in Northern California from 1965 -1983, then returned to Berlin. Since then she has created a wide range of artistic work. Sculpture , Installation, poetry-Text Reliefs - Musical Audio - Visual room installation, luminescent Photo object boxes and Videos. The theme in all of these works is narrative and contemplative. Exploring issues of consciousness, society in our time, the cycle of life, transiency and personal space.
The sculptural work is polychromatic created in wood : carved, assembled, gilded and painted. Uniting abstract form and a refined structure.
The luminescent object boxes are a combination of paper sculpture and photography. Scenes are created with the paper figures titled "the beer people". These figures are all originals made out of the valueless material of tissue paper drop catchers. In Germany the "tropfenfanger" is a tradition, it is a tissue paper ring that is attached to the bottom of a beer glass to absorb the foam drippings.
