Gary D Wingo

Born February 4th, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Began painting in 1968 with oils - switched to acrylics in 1994. Although I have painted a little of everything, I stay primarily with Native American art; realism as well as references to Native American mythology. All of my paintings have a message, some obvious, some not so obvious.

Gary Dee Wingo has lived in various states across the U.S. and lived in Wyoming and Colorado for 18 years. Many of the settings for his paintings are from these areas. With close relation to the Cherokee Nation, he endeavors to depict the spirituality and mythology of the American Indian and the Old West on canvas.
