Gonçalo Castelo Branco is an admirer of the Renaissance period but also of the Contemporary art.
Since early age he demonstrated his admiration for different forms of artistic expression and his attraction by colour. Andy Warhol, Ben Shahn and Pablo Picasso have been his mentors and also the source of his work inspiration.
A breathing limitation that stopped him from using paints became an obstacle but also an opportunity, leading him to express is creativity through photography. His knowledge of image manipulation software allows him to develop his art without limits.
Earth Song ’11 is considered by himself as the work that best portraits his art.
