James Randklev

Born 1945 in the Pacific Northwest on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State, James Randklev developed a love for nature and capturing the landscape in all its forms, originally working with medium and large format view cameras.

I've always had a curiosity about our natural world and photography became a means to express myself and share my love for nature. Influenced by Ansel Adams and Eliot Porter's work, I soon began to create my own style that includes both grand landscapes and intimate details of nature. Working with a large format view camera afforded me the quality that I desired.

Bachelors degree in zoology from University of Washington
2 yrs. in United States Army,
3 yrs. teaching photography workshops in Colorado. Only American chosen to exhibit his work at 1997 International Exhibition of Nature Photography at Evian, France. Selected by Roto Visioin Publications for a book, titled: Worlds Top Landscape Photographers, 2005.,
