Madeleine Casey

Madeleine Casey was born in England and from the age of ten lived in New Zealand. She has been painting since she was a child and is an established artist in the Antipodes, with several sell out solo shows and notable collectors who follow her career.

"Post-modern art is the art of identity. Issues such as signification, authorship, appropriation, originality, deconstruction, ideology and discourse are inherent. My work deals with the negotiation of identity on both a personal and global level. Universal issues are juxtaposed with stream of consciousness and fragmentary childhood memories to create a synthesis of past and present, private and public."
