ABOUT
EDUCATION

I am a photographic and video artist based in London. My work deals with domestic space and objects, addressing issues of consumerism, waste and how we value material goods. The series Home Improvements is a document of domestic objects at a recycling and waste depot in the UK. Home Improvements was commissioned by Pavilion as part of the Pavilion Commissions Programme 2007. General Effects, 2006, documents my grandmothers house before she died. The photographs explore the edges of the house, repositories for a gradual accumulation of things and dust. The series addresses the problem of what happens to the objects that the dead leave behind. How do we assign value to objects and what happens to the ones we decide are worthless?
