Paul Crabtree

I am a 36 year old self taught artist from Mayfield, East Sussex.

Early on in my career I specialised in pencil portraits of celebrities - my work has evolved from pencil to charcoal to mixed media and covers a much broader spectrum of subjects. In 2013 my Shark portrait was voted runner up in the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year competition.

As well as being an artist I am the editor of a men's online lifestyle magazine, work as a personal trainer and am currently designing a new line of clothing around the Black Core lifestyle brand. I work from my home studio where there is always more than one project on the go depending on what inspires me at the time. Two words to describe me would be 'busy' and 'driven'!

I am currently working on a new piece for entry in to the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation Wildlife Artist of the year competition.
