Regan Santry was born in 1950 and raised on Long Island, New York. Growing up near the Atlantic Ocean and 50 miles from New York City provided many opportunities for him to develop both his artistic talents and a deep appreciation for the sea. His artistic professions include animation, mural art, silk screening, custom automotive painting and art direction; working for over 35 years as a storyboard artist, illustrator, cartoonist, layout artist and creative director. Over the years, aside from his indoor art career, he would break away to pursue working on the water as way to balance his life. -"I love to draw, but the Ocean is my church." He worked in advertising and other times as a bayman, clam digger, or he would go deep sea fishing. He was also a mate and Captain for the Long Island Oyster Farm. Throughout his life, he balanced his two careers until he discovered the process that he named "Textureprinting". This innovative technique was created by Mr. Santry for the purpose of archiving large and/or oddly shaped marine animals, which were difficult to, or impossible to print, using traditional Gyotaku. Regan Santry attended School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, N.Y. and Southampton College on Long Island, N.Y.In his Advertising career, he was nominated for a CLIO in 1987, besides being the recipient of numerous other regional awards for design, from N.Y. to Florida, where he now resides. In 2002, he had a presence in 9 outdoor art exhibits, including two at Bass Pro Shops (Isla Morada) The Sharks Tooth Convention, The Hunt for Reds in October Festival, The Winery (St. Augustine) , and quite a few others. He has shown at The Vanderbilt Museum in Centerport, N.Y. and Hecsher Park in Huntington, N.Y. -He also displayed his work at the Annual Star Island Shark Tournament at Montauk Point, N.Y. This year, from July14 through the 23rd, he will be presenting his work in a one man show and fund raiser event for Oceana, at LaMantia Gallery

He will also be showing his work at Star Island Marina for their 19th Annual Mako/Thresher Mania Tournament from August 5th through 6th. 2011 and their White Water Sportfish Challenge September 9th -11th, 2011.
He has, and will continue in the future, to donate prints for auction to the IGFA International Game Fish Association and to various charities.
