Robert B Porter

My name is Robert Blair Porter, I was born in Kingston Canada in 1951. In 1970 I left Canada to travel to India to study Tibetan Buddhism and thangka painting in Dharamsala. I returned to Canada in 1975 to study at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto and then in 1980 received a scholarship to study in Florence for a year. For the next 10 years I lived mainly in India and had my studio there but spent a great deal of time travelling to different parts of the world. I then moved to Chiang Rai in the north of Thailand and have been living and painting here ever since.
