Stephen Hilton

I was born in 1967 at North Manchester General Hospital, the third child of Bob and Sylvia Hilton of Rhodes, Middleton. My parents were working in the cotton industry at that time. I attended Little Heaton Infant and Junior schools, Durnford High school and then Queen Elizabeth Senior High, before going to Rochdale College of Art in 1983.
I met my wife Joanne in 1990 and we were married a year later. We have three children, Joshua, Samuel and Rebekah. We recently moved to Cornwall, something we have wanted to do for some time.
I have had various jobs over the years whilst painting in my spare time. In 2008 I was able to become a full-time artist and I haven't looked back.
I now enjoy each day doing what I have always wanted to do.
