Obsessed by the macabre and the grotesque, Tobias Crone tries to find the perfect deformation.
In his drawings and etchings you see a world in which the medical science has deteriorated to a selfish practice with the only benefit for the scientist himself, creating a society of diseased doctors who use their patients in order to satisfy themselves in the most effective manner through perverted treatments.
There are no cures. In this world the difference between a teabag and a scrotum has been abolished, while the vacuum cleaner is considered to be an essential medical instrument.
In the new series, he visualizes the impressions which he collected during his stay in Buenos Aires. In these works, one can see persons who are brought together and who unite themselves through their own indifference, just to leave each other even more painfully emptied. The transition from apparent unity, that seems indestructable, to useless waiting for the inevitable separation is one of the main subjects.
