Toos Van Holstein

In 2016 Toos van Holstein, renowned painter in the Netherlands, was elected as the Dutch Brilliant Artist of the Year. In the election of the Dutch Artist of the Year 2023 she was chosen among the 25 most popular artists of this year.

Toos van Holstein (1949) studied art and art history at the Academy in Tilburg (Netherlands), where she received her diploma in 1978. She taught aesthetics from 1970 till 1990.In 1983 she had her first exhibition of oil paintings.
With her independent nature Toos van Holstein choose, already many years ago, for an expressionistic , figurative world in her paintings. With her marvellous use of colors she creates a symbiosis of the many cultures on our world.

In The Netherlands Toos van Holstein has been nominated several times for the election of the Artist of the Year. In this public election she always ended up in the group of the 25 most popular artists of the country.
In 2016 Toos was crowned as the Dutch Brilliant Artist of the Year.

In France her coöperation with gallery Qvadrige/La Diane Française in Nice resulted in stone lithographs used as illustrations in new French releases in limited editions of, amongst others, the Iliad and Odyssea by Homer, the Divine Comedy by Dante and the Légend...

Toos van Holstein (1949) studied art and art history at the Academy in Tilburg, where she received her diploma in 1978. She taught aesthetics from 1970 to 1990. In 1990 she started her career as an independant artist living from her profession.

In 1983 Toos van Holstein had her first exhibition of oil paintings. Since then, she has regularly exhibited her oil-paintings, water-colors, stone lithographs, mixed media on alu-dibond and bronze, aluminium and plastic statues in The Netherlands and other countries at a number of well-known galleries and art fairs like
