Welcome to my world of Fractal Art.
In a nutshell, fractals are images which are self-perpetuating. The overall pattern spawns its own shape ad infinitum.
Fractals are found in nature (think leaf veins, branching tree limbs, a rose spiraling inward), as well as in the abstract domain. A limitless variety of designs, colors, and shapes are possible.
The software I use is aptly called “Chaotica.” I start with randomly generated chaotic shapes and patterns, and then form them into a pleasing design, mimicking the perfection of the evolutionary processes within the natural world.
For years, I have painted with watercolor. I like to think of these new creations as Digital Watercolor. Like watercolor, I can achieve fluidity, transparency, and multi-dimensional effects. Unlike watercolor, however, computerization allows for any design to be easily and quickly customized in a new color palette if you wish.
You never know where the initial “primal soup” will take you and that is the exciting part of working with this new digital-age medium.
