Julie Desrochers

Julie Desrochers is best known for her vibrant abstract landscapes that stimulate the mind and evoke memories. Julie’s mantra is, “I want the viewer to have a mentally tangible experience. I want them to feel the sun on their face and the sand between their toes.”

Julie grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and attended art school in a small college. She married a professional pilot and began to travel the world where she combed through every art museum and gallery in her path.

She soon became consumed with the works and philosophies of the Parisian Impressionist greats such as Renoir and Monet.

Redefining the use of acrylic paint with translucent layers of color to create intense feelings, Julie was determined to implement modern color techniques in her work.

Julie has taught Jr High and High School Art, and especially loved inspiring young artists’ minds to new and exciting ideas. She has two grown sons, and now resides in rural Texas with her husband and their two dogs.
