EDUCATION
Gabriel Dubois paints vibrantly coloured lines ; they wrap, weave and totem themselves through and arounnd his compositions. Bright bursts of expression encounter delicately assembled collage: a constructive/ deconstructive equilibrium of energised signifiers and symbols. A Vancouver nomad, Dubois has worked extensively in Germany ; experiences in India, Sri Lanka and Japan have also had their impact. Every trace on every surface - a work on wood or a street sourced installation inscribes a life - experience compressed into the formal language of abstraction.
