Tiina Hoddy

I was born in London to a British father and a Finnish mother. At the age of six, I moved to Finland with my mother, where I completed my schooling. Despite growing up in Finland, I have always maintained a strong connection to England, visiting my father every other year and always considering myself British at heart.

I am a mother of two grown children and a proud grandmother to two granddaughters, aged 17 and 19.

Currently, I reside in the UK, but I have also lived in Sweden, France, and Finland, each place influencing my creativity and artistic journey.

From a young age, I have been deeply passionate about design, art, and craftsmanship. At six years old, I began designing doll and baby clothes, a passion that continued to evolve over the years. As a child, I enjoyed painting and drawing, often painting china with my mother and exploring oil painting.

For many years, I have designed and created baby, doll, and pet clothing, as well as various handcrafted items for sale. Upcycling has always been an integral part of my creative process—I love repurposing and transforming items, giving them a new lease on life through paint and reinvention.

I studied to be a nurse first, but I wanted to work with children, so I moved to Sweden and enrolled at the University of Stockholm to study infant and nursery education. I received my Bachelor's Degree in 1986.

I am self-taught in art.
