Lotte Grarup

My name is Lotte Grarup, and I am an artist specializing in digital pop art and abstract, fractal creations derived from my own photos.
I draw significant inspiration from renowned art photographer Cindy Sherman, particularly her amazing "Tapestries" exhibition where she employs her own face through Snapchat filters. Similarly, I use my own facial features to personify my works, integrating them through AI processes across all portraits, including those of men. This method adds a personal connection and authenticity to my pieces.

In my art, I embrace pop art's dual nature—its irony and simultaneous glorification of what we perceive as perfect and beautiful. Through this lens, I explore how self-perception can be both critically examined and celebrated, reflecting on societal ideals perpetuated by social media. My work challenges viewers to rethink their own notions of beauty and perfection.

I further enhance the digital files in Photoshop and occasionally upscale the pop art portraits using Topaz to ensure print-ready quality. Each piece undergoes individual post-processing to achieve the desired artistic expression.

2016: Awarded early retirement pension.

2018: Experienced a rediscovery of my inner creativity: a nascent passion for photography that quickly grew into an entire lifestyle. Starting with borrowed equipment, I have developed my technical skills through networking, club memberships, and countless outings, resulting in a semi-professional portfolio spanning various genres.

2023: At Aarhus Festival, Denmark. At "Stiften" together with the photo club I was a member of, AFA.

2025: Jan-Feb. Grønning Art, Skive, Denmark

2025: March. A censored Spring Exhibition,Viborg, Denmark.
Organizer: Fjends Art Association, of which I am a member. I received 3 blue stickers from the jurors out of my 5 works as an extra recognition. At the same event, I also exhibited nature photos with Fjends Photo Club, of which I am a member.

2025: June 7th-14th. During Skive Region's Culture Week, Denmark, I was exhibiting and selling at:

2025/26: All of December and January at Vrå Bryghus, Vrå - opening early December Jernbanegade 7 9760 Vrå. The exhibited pictures are not yet finally decided but will be displayed here on the website during late summer and autumn.
