I begin my image making process with either painting or photography. Once the essence of the image is captured it is then manipulated digital to reach the final execution.
Having had along career as an advertising art director and creative director in some of London’s leading advertising agencies creating images in a variety of medium for all sorts of media, for TV to magazine advertising - I love the challenges image creation demands.
Although now retired and produceing work just for myself, I still love the excitement the process gives me.
I like to capture the mood of my subject with either a paint brush or a camera but I prefer to refine the work using the digital process. The immediacy and versatility of adding lays and effects, improving tonal values quickly and non destructively leads to a more satisfying final execution to the vast majority of my work.
