Mike Byrne

Mike has been working with concrete for over 35 years He specializes in bas-relief tiles, wall hangings, and geometric shapes. He likes working in concrete because of its resilient ability, while at the same time providing a supporting feeling.

He uses a variety of concrete products and appropriated objects as a medium. His work is heavily influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, Buckminster Fuller, Arman, and Art Deco architecture.

All his pieces are cast from handcrafted molds made of plaster, wood, rubber, and found objects. Most of his castings are one-off or limited runs.
