I'm 36 years old, Brazilian and have been deaf since birth.
I found my greatest passion in art when I was still a child. But for me, art is more than a cultural expression. It is an important communication tool. It was through painting that I was able to express my feelings and talk about the many barriers that deaf people face in their lives. Art is the perfect way to break down language barriers. In it I found a universal language.
I've used art as a communication tool since I was very young, and when I was a child, art was my companion in the long moments of loneliness due to my deafness. I grew up in a rural area, surrounded by lots of nature and I was able to develop the sensitivity to compose my works from an early age.
Today, as an adult, I believe in art as a tool for social transformation. A platform to make people aware of inclusion and respect for differences.
In each painting there is a piece of my story and a message of overcoming for the deaf community and all those who support us.
In this sense, a platform like Saatchi Art is the most suitable platform to share my vision of the world with everyone.
