Adrian Sykes

Award winning British artist specialising in figurative landscapes and detailed black and white cityscapes.

Born in 1970 in Merseyside, I moved to the South West to study at Bath College of Fine Art. As a young man I busked and painted my way across Europe, capturing the great buildings with chalked pavement pieces.

In 2010 I won ‘The Bath Prize’ my first Major art prize. I gained national public recognition as a Finalist on the BBC2 series ‘Show Me The Monet’ and was invited to exhibit at The Mall Galleries, London. This then led to a place in the final of “The Young Masters Art Prize” mentored by art expert Roy Bolton. In Autumn 2012 I was awarded “The Sustainable Arts Foundation” Painting Prize, and have just won “The Bristol Art Prize” (Oct’13).

I have lived in Merseyside, Ireland, Yorkshire and am now based in Bristol.
