Jasmin Ahokas

I'm born in 1997. When I was 3 years old and in kindergarten, others wanted to learn how to tie shoelaces, but my ambitions lied elsewhere, I wanted to learn how to draw really good bears and cats ears!

Nature has always been close to my heart and it is an endless source for inspiration. Charcoal is such an organic ingredient of nature, I love how primitive it is, yet it produces astonishing and empowering art in skilled hands. It is my main medium in art and I love how versatile it can be.

Since I was a child, I've had a rare nerve pain syndrome that has no cure or relief. Doing art is really a lifeline for me, but it requires an enormous amount of energy trying to focus doing it while fighting with the pain I feel.
