Akimjon Zavqibekov is a Toronto-based visual artist originally from the scenic mountainous town of Khorog, Tajikistan. His artistic journey began at an early age, leading him to attend a dedicated art school and graduate with distinction from the State Art College. Akim’s early professional years were spent as an art teacher and later as an illustrator and graphic designer for the Aga Khan Foundation from 2000 to 2010, where he contributed to health education initiatives and took part in regional art exhibitions. In 2013, Akim and his family relocated to Toronto, where he pursued further studies in graphic design at Herzing College, graduating with honors. Since settling in Canada, he has showcased his work in numerous community exhibitions and was recognized as a finalist in the esteemed Diamond Jubilee Fine Arts competition. Deeply committed to community engagement, he has also led painting masterclasses within the Ismaili community, nurturing creativity and artistic expression. Akim's creative portfolio spans a diverse range of styles, from realism and abstraction to transcendental art, using various mediums such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media.
