Alejandra Villasmil

Alejandra Villasmil is a Venezuelan artist living and working in Santiago de Chile. She lived in New York City for ten years, where she participated in numerous exhibitions, including the El Museo del Barrio and the Queens Museum of Art biennials. Her work has been exhibited at Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, Museo de Arte Moderno de la República Dominicana and the Museum of Latin American Art (Long Beach, California). Other venues include Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum (California), Lehman College Art Gallery (NY), Center for Book Arts (NY), Lower East Side Printshop (NY), Aljira Center for Contemporary Art (Newark, New Jersey), apexart (NY), Praxis Gallery (Miami and NY), Salón Tudor (Santiago, Chile), Werketage (Berlin, Germany), and Ever Harvest Art Center (Taipei, Taiwan). Her work has been published by magazines such as Juxtapoz, Rojo, Itch, Mácula, Area Zinc and Dada Mini. Her portfolio is in the curated artists registries of the Drawing Center and White Columns, both in New York. Her work is represented by Carmen Araujo Arte (Caracas, Venezuela).
