Alessia Adorni

Born and raised in Parma, Italy, I have had a lifelong passion for painting and drawing. Despite building a successful career in the life sciences industry for nearly 30 years, I never stopped pursuing my dream of becoming an artist. Currently I reside in Paris, France. I have a special interest in the human body, particularly women's bodies. In a society where social norms impose their own dictates, feeding our complexes and degrading the relationship with our body, I aim to integrate a more complete and realistic vision of the body. My representations of women are not perfect, not always young, or retouched, offering a more authentic and inclusive portrayal of femininity.

Although I have an official background as a biologist, I have always taken art courses in paralleI. In fact, I started taking painting courses while attending university in Italy. After moving to Paris in 2003, I further honed my skills by taking a sculpture course for eight years, followed by an exploration of drawing to gain a deeper understanding of the human body. This extensive training played a crucial role in the development of my techniques and artistic skills.

In October 2022, I held a personal exhibition at a temporary space in Paris, France- that provided a platform for me to showcase my artwork, including my exploration of the human form and my representation of women.
Some early exhibitions in 1990s marked the beginning of my artistic journey, where I began to explore themes related to the human body and femininity.
