Alex Ghizea Ciobanu

My oeuvre is based on four main keys: contrast, humor, allegory, and sarcasm.
The main goal of my artworks is to create a concept of the world from myself, as a starting point regarding my environment, to humanity in general in the face of the cosmos, God, Earth. I’m studying in my research, the facets, and place of man in nature, outer space, and time, combining at first glance incompatible things, phenomena, and ideas. The most popular elements in my compositions are food (food for our bodies), music (food for our souls), animals (a symbol of nature and purity), women (love, creation, power of life), and mythology (positioning of gods between myth, history, and science).
I chose surrealism to expand my opportunities and to combine the figurative technique and unexpected symbolism in detail and elements of composition. Such an approach helps me avoid classical images.
