Alicia Philley is a multimedia artist illuminating connections between community and climate healing. Her abstract art practice is visually rooted in urban greenspaces. She completed the BFA program in painting at Hunter College, NYC, (2005) and earned a BA in journalism from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, (1995.)
In the past few years, Philley has created solo shows for the Dougherty Arts Center and the 14th Contemporary Eco Museum, as well as site-specific sculptures for the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and the LBJ Ranch and National Historic Park. She was the fall artist in residence at the west-Austin Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, where she created paintings, ceramic sculptures, and stop motion animation.
Her ongoing projects include founder and studio residency manager of the Artist Parents & Caregivers Community and volunteer/artist advocate for the Native Prairies Association of Texas. In September 2025, Philley will travel to Newfoundland, Canada for a month-long eco-artist residency with the Pouch Cove Foundation.
