Amélie Vallières is a Canadian painter whose work celebrates the resilience, strength, and individuality of modern women. Through oil portraits that blend classical techniques with expressive, contemporary touches, she explores themes of self-love, empowerment, and authenticity. Her pieces serve as visual narratives, inviting viewers to connect with their personal histories, inner strength, and the legacies of women before them. Inspired by artists from Botticelli to De Kooning, Amélie reinterprets tradition with a bold, modern lens, creating works that are both timeless and intimately human.
Amélie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Montreal, with a minor in Fine Arts. This academic foundation informs her approach, grounding her exploration of oil painting in historical and technical knowledge while allowing the freedom of self-directed experimentation. Her practice bridges classical glazing and portrait techniques with contemporary feminist narratives, creating work that is visually rich and conceptually layered.
